Ellen Cisneros (b. 1991) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Meanjin, Australia who currently works with painting, drawing and sculpture. Their practice explores themes of gender, sexuality, identity and existentialism.

 

Ellen's work often involves the LGBTQIA+ community and mental health advocacy. Their media spans photography, moving image, painting, drawing, sound and collaborative initiatives. Ellen recently exhibited in ‘Are We Friends’ at Open House Collective (Meanjin, 2019) and ‘Art with Heart’ at Jugglers Art Space and Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) (Meanjin, 2018). They were interviewed for the ‘Talking Heals’ National Suicide Prevention Trial campaign video (Meanjin, 2019); and exhibited at Melt Festival with the LGBTQIA+ organisation, Queensland Council for LGBTI Health (formerly QuAC – Queensland AIDS Council) (Meanjin, 2019).
